Their hearts cry out
Spin.
The winner of B.W.'s Hugo Awards preview: Spin by Robert Charles Wilson.
A proper book report in a few days, perhaps. Right now I just need to recover from the awe.

Spin is indeed a fine novel. My vote Hugo-wise, though, will still go to Scalzi's Old Man's War, which brilliantly brings a Heinleinian worldview into the 21st century and also manages to be one of the very best antiwar novels of the past two decades.
